The ignitor element is very brittle. Handle with care. Do not touch the heating element with bare fingers. The oils from your skin can cause a hot spot on the heating element, which could result in the glowbar disintegrating. Handle the glowbar by its ceramic mounting block only. If a glowbar becomes dirty, use a clean cotton cloth to wipe debris or dust off the heating element.
